This was as always a hard choice because ranking down a top 10 is what everyone is doing, so I decided to pick my favourite 10 films of the year that are not blockbusters or sequels and what a list if was Sing Street stands out as the best for me because the songs are catchy, the story is relatable and the characters are smartly written I couldn’t help but say watch this one.

When it comes to comic book movies we have had great choices for our heroes but this year Ryan Reynolds give the best and most perfectly cast comic book hero performance we have ever seen, he nails the comedy, the action and isn’t afraid to take the piss out of himself either. This performance has made Reynolds an A-Lister once again and is also the first superhero to be nominated for a Golden Globe.

Sacha Baron Cohen – Grimsby

I do truly believe Sacha Baron Cohen is a great actor but when he plays these awful characters I can’t help but wonder why he is wasting all the talent has. This is loud annoying and flat out insulting character.
