Plot: Amir and Amat are invited to a trip into the South American rain forest, but the pleasant visit to Bolivia quickly takes a bizarre turn as Amat starts having strange visions and loses his mind over the ghostly presence of a giant blood red ox. Amir must save his boyfriend from paranoia but he will quickly realize he can’t trust nothing and nobody – as he might be losing his mind too.

Story: Blood-Red Ox starts when Amir (Akar) and Amat (Bass) head to South America with Amir’s friends. It creates a strange feeling for Amir who starts having terrifying nightmares of a red ox. Trying to shake off the nightmares Amat tries to battle his past.
The uncertainty between the couple only gets worse as their time in the holiday home brings up more mysteries. It isn’t until they work together they start to understand what is happening.
Verdict on Blood-Red Ox
Blood Red Ox is a psychological horror mystery following a couple that start having unexplained events on their holiday in the rainforest. It takes the pair down a dangerous path of uncertainty as they try to explain what is happening to them.
The nightmare sequences feel genuinely terrifying seeing them spiralling out of control. With the Red Ox is a creature that nobody would want to meet even if it was only in nightmares.
The movie has plenty more in a play dealing with emotional problems within relationships and discomfort about being in a new place.
