Story: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days starts as aspiring journalist Andie Anderson (Hudson) is getting tired of being known as the ‘How To Girl’ for her magazine, but her popularity will put the pressure on to continue her work with her latest piece about driving a man away within the first 10 days, exposing the mistakes women can make in the eyes of men.

Ben Barry (McConaughey) an advertising executive gets caught up in a bet to win a project, which will need him to get a woman to fall in love with him within 10 days. The two meet and get caught up in the battle to see who can finish their project first, but love has its own way to win people over.

Thoughts on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

ThoughtsHow to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a romantic comedy that tells the firm early story that both sides are playing the other for their own good, instead of most, which will only have one doing something for their own agenda. We do get the typical whirlwind start of a relationship, while fast forwarding to the more testing times couple could have, all within the 10-day spell, which is what the assignments are all about. This will bring the laughs along the way, as Andie will be going over-the-top with her attempts to push Ben away, while Ben gets the laughs with what he is willing to put up with. When it comes to the romantic comedy world, this is one that knows it wants a love story, but is clear that not everything needs to be like a traditional meet sweet relationship. With Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey in the leading roles, we get all the chemistry required for the film, with the sparks flying. Add in the support cast which gets the laughs without stealing the spotlight from the leads. Deep down this will have the message about not playing games when it comes to love.

Final Thoughts How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a delightfully fun romantic comedy.
