Story: The Blacklight starts as Danny (Lancaster) looks to escape his life of crime. However, his latest job sees him caught by naïve rich kid Liam (Russell) who gets excited by the thought of a life of crime. Liam offers Danny a way out of his life with a big score.

When the pair recruit one more member a loose cannon Kit Viper (Rutledge) the job goes down a different path. The three see themselves hunted down by another ruthless criminal who wants what they stole back, a powerful supernatural artefact.

Verdict on The Blacklight

The Blacklight is a crime thriller following a small-time thief that is looking for a chance to escape that world. However, when the job goes wrong, he finds himself dealing with consequences he wasn’t prepared for.

This is a thriller that looks to bring us the typical get out of the life of crime storyline, with a few extra bits. It focuses on the bigger picture of what Danny has got involved with stealing and how this decision will have lasting effects. The movie does feel slightly too long for what is on offer. Despite, having plenty of twists along the way. There is also an attempt to bring comedy into the story, which seems to struggle compared to the more serious side of the story.

Final Thoughts The Blacklight is a wacky thriller with plenty of twists.

Verdict on Enola Holmes

Enola Holmes is an action-adventure mystery involving another member of the Holmes family. The youngest member looks to learn about her mother’s disappearance, only to get herself involved in a bigger mystery involving a young man.

This is a fun introduction to the character, showing that Sherlock Holmes had other family members for solving crimes. It gets to put a different point of view on society’s problems as Enola looks to break barriers to solve her first crime. This gets to show how she isn’t a perfect detective, but her skills prepare her to enter the world like her brother before her.

The performances are fun Millie Bobby Brown gives us a performance completely opposite to her Stranger Things role. In the supporting cast, we get a lot of fun from Henry Cavill and others along the way.

Where to Watch: Enola Holmes is available to watch on Netflix.

Final Thoughts Enola Holmes is a fun mystery bringing us a new character to follow throughout the years.
