“You know what you are – you’re an a**s-half… Takes two of you to make an a**-whole.” – Joey
Number of Times Seen – 1 (3 Sep 2021)
Brief Synopsis – A Car salesman must sell 12 cars in 2 days or risk losing his job which is thwarted by a gunman who takes over the car dealership.
My Take on it – Interesting story that does a fine job showing the kind of life a salesman can lead especially when they are constantly trying to sell to everyone around them with whatever commodity they have.
Robin Williams is great in the lead role and he excels in this role because he does is so plausibly.
He is constantly using his verbal abilities to help every situation that he finds himself in.
The life he has created for himself is a bit too complex for him, yet he still does his best to make the best of it.
His character comes off as being quite personable with all that he does and he has such great chemistry with everyone he encounters which helps explain why he is so well liked throughout the movie.
Tim Robbins plays a jilted husband quite well and makes the viewer believe the reasons why he decides to take everyone in the car dealership hostage.
The rest of the supporting cast is also fin with Fran Drescher, Lori Petty, Annabella Sciorra, Pamela Reed and Paul Guilfoyle all helping things move along.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Al Pacino was the original choice for Joey. When he passed, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito were considered for the role before Robin Williams was cast. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
