Thoughts on Trigger Point

Characters & Performances – Nicolas Shaw is a former Special Operative that has retired, living out a calm quiet life, one away from the busy world, but he is drawn back into his old life when people from his past turn up. His secret is what is keeping him safe, but not he will see people wanting to learn about his secret, never knowing who he can trust in this world. Barry Pepper brings us a smart action hero that is more of an everyday person that will give us the unsuspecting figure in this war. Elias Kane is the old friend and boss that comes to Nicolas in search of him for help, he will connect him with everything he needs to get the job done. Colm Feore is the typical figure you would expect to see in the authority role in the film. When it comes to the supporting characters, we get to meet people as Nicolas returns to his old life, each one will have a story to tell for their reason for knowing Nicolas.

StoryThe story follows a former special operative that will get recalled to the field to help a friend locate their missing daughter, only to find coming out of hiding will see former enemies return to his life. This is an action film that is similar to many action films we have seen before, the former operative forced into returning to the field, finding his old connections, while drawing out old enemies. This is an easy to watch story, it does feel like it wants to be the beginning of a bigger franchise following Nicolas Shaw and his previous life coming back to haunt him.

ThemesTrigger Point is an action film that will bring us the secret operative world to life, showing us how one of the former members will come out of hiding to do a new job. The action is short efficient gun shots, rather than mad bullets flying, with the locations being used show how secret operations can be kept away from the world.
