Episode 22 – Blood Feud
Couch Gag – This time the sofa falls through the floor, I really do hope they start getting to the crazy starts.
Plot Synopsis – Bart saves Mr. Burns’s life. But Homer becomes enraged when Mr. Burns doesn’t return the favor by sending the Simpsons what he considers to be an appropriate “thank you” gift.
What is going on really – The episode starts when Mr Burns is on deaths door, he needs a blood transfusion which leads to all the employees given the chance to donate blood, here we get to learn what Carl’s role is too Homer.
When Homer learns that Bart has the blood type in question with Homer hoping to be given a reward for helping Mr Burns. When Mr Burns sends a thank you card, Homer becomes enraged as he believes the family should get a reward, with Marge trying to teach that this was a good deed that didn’t need a reward.
Homer writes a letter in rage but manages to not send it, only for Bart to send it. This leads to Homer and Bart having to find a way to get the letter back before Mr Burns reads.
Final Thoughts – This is a good episode because it shows that you can do a good deed and not need a reward, it does show the consequences of greed between the lower class. This episode does though end up forgetting anything that has happened between Burns and the Simpsons though.
