Plot Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

1) Didn’t we learn Deckard was a replicant at the end of Blade Runner and would die in a couple of days?

2) Just how big will Ford’s role be?

3) There is no question Gosling is a brilliant actor but can he capture the type of performance Ford gave all those years ago?

4) This does look visually stunning but how big will the world we enter be?

5) What has happened to make Officer K search for Deckard?

  1. Great article. I loved this trailer. Huge fan of Blade Runner here, so I had some of the same questions you had. I’m an old school believer of Deckard being a Replicant. Gosling’s character could be searching for Deckard because he found a way to stay alive (past his expiration date). He could be a blade runner tracking down Nexus’ Most Wanted. Maybe Gosling is a Replicant too, doubting his memories like Deckard did before? I imagine we will be suspecting this through the course of the story. I’m also really excited for the team-up of Villeneuve and Deakins. The trailer’s visuals were stunning. I hope the scope isn’t global, but contained like the original. I simply cannot wait for this movie to come out!
