Do We Care About the Oscars? Birdman Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2015)

Do We Care About the Oscars?

The idea behind this is to look back at every single film that was nominated for any of these categories,

·         Best Picture

·         Best Actor

·         Best Actress

·         Best Supporting Actor

·         Best Supporting Actress

·         Best Director

By looking back at these I will be asking the questions below to find out whether this is a film to be watched or not. This is not a full review and if I have seen the film in question I will give my rating of said film. I will also not be comparing or suggesting any other films that could or should have won this is just looking at a film and seeing if it still stands in the memory.

Film: Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)birdman

Oscar Wins: (4) Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Original Screenplay and Best Cinematography.

Oscar Nominations: (5) Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, best Supporting Actress, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.

Have I Seen It?

Yes – My Rating 92%

Will I Watch It Again? Yes, I do think I need to give this a second viewing.

Should Everyone Have Seen It? I think all bar Casual Fans should watch this.

Most Memorable Parts? The single shot style of the film, That scene with Birdman and the random underwear scenes.

Thoughts On the Film: Upon on seeing this film once I found the film filled with great performances from the whole cast comes off very slow movie with a story that plays out like a play. It can come off with too much being thrown at you all at once while becoming rewarding once you understand everything going on.

Do We Care It Got Oscar Attention? Maybe, The acting deserves all the praise it got, the style of shooting great but Best Picture should be one of the most memorable and this will slowly become one that gets talked about but not one everyone says WATCH.

This film is Batman and his daughter Gwen Stacey getting annoyed by the moody Hulk while sober Alan keep Jet in her place, all while trying to make the Broadway play. Kind of like a sitcom really.cast
