There may be spoilers the rest of the review

Verdict: It Got Worse

Story: I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer starts as a group of friends Amber (Nevin), Colby (Paetkau), Zoe (DeVitto), Lance (Easter) Roger (Packard) all believe in the random killer fisherman that kills on the 4th July. The night is going well before a killer turned up only for it to be a stupid prank that left one of their friends dead. Like the previous outing Amber, Colby, Zoe and Roger make a pact not to talk about what happened last summer and the death of their friend.

One year later Amber still in the town waiting for Colby to return. Amber learns that someone knows what they did when someone sends Amber 50 messages say ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ and Amber must rebuild the bridges that were burnt between the friends over the year. With the friendships rebuilt they must work together to figure out who is trying to kill them and who knows the truth.

I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer when you have seen the first two films and know how bad the second one is you really wonder how a third one was going to work. So they pretty much to make a piss poor remake that goes on to make the killer SUPERNATURAL in otherwise unkillable and taking away any mystery involved in who the killer is. Really how do you actually get this wrong this film needs a human killer that will make the film seem believable on how the killer acts.

Actor Review

Brooke Nevin: Amber Williams is one of the friends who has dreamed of a brighter future but after the accident that killed a dear friend she is left in the town to deal with the grief. One year later she is looking forward to finally moving away only to find her boyfriend not interested and herself alone being stalked by someone who knows what they covered up last summer. She has to rebuild friendships to work together to uncover the truth. Brooke is basic leading lady without being original enough.

David Paetkau: Colby is the boyfriend of Amber who has spent a year away only to come back a failure, he comes off as the ass boyfriend we always see the leading character have in teen horror films. David is a solid asshole through this whole movie.

Torrey DeVitto: Zoe is Amber’s best friend before the accident happened, one year later they are no longer friends but must rebuild their friendship to find out who is trying to kill them. Torrey is solid not let’s face it she is no Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Ben Easter: Lance is the cousin of the victim in the accident who has always had the hots for Amber, he also knows what happened last summer but wasn’t part of the pact. Ben does ok in the only character that comes off slightly original.

Support Cast: I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer has a group of easy to kill off supporting cast members whose names are not easy to remember.

Director Review: Sylvain WhiteSylvain gives us a basic almost remake of the story which would easily be forgettable.

Horror: I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer has very basic slasher style horror but isn’t scary in anyway.

Mystery: I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer loses all the mystery around the film because of where the killer ends up going.

Thriller: I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer doesn’t keep us on edge at all which is key for the horror genre.

Settings: I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer puts us in a random town which seems to be so far away from the original but I could be wrong.
Special Effects
: I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer has basic effects when it comes to kills involved.

Suggestion: I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer is one that you could easily skip but most people didn’t even know it was around. (Avoid)

Best Part: Waterside message.

Worst Part: The killer.

Believability: No

Chances of Tears: No

Chances of Sequel: No

Post Credits Scene: No

Oscar Chances: No

Runtime: 1 Hour 32 Minutes

Tagline: What he knows, might kill you.

Overall: A sequel/remake that just plain sucks.

      • That’s right, that was the character that had me disliking Jack Black before I realised it. I was too young to realise he was a stoner, for some reason he just pissed me off and I’ve disliked Jack Black ever since. It’d interesting to revisit it, I must have been a kid when I saw it last

  1. You know your idea about me providing the basis of a movie idea for you? How do you feel about I STILL EFFING KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER MUG! Ha ha ha 🙂
