Over the past year I have seen an incredible amount of films and I have decided to share with you all which ones I have seen in what order. I am going to be doing these in groups of ten, where I will pick my favourite of the bunch and the worst of the bunch.
So without further ramblings here we go with 121 – 130:
1. Nailbiter The Maguire family is forced to take sudden refuge in a seemingly abandoned storm cellar from a deadly tornado. A nice horror with an extra twist.
2. Dark Star In the far reaches of space, a small crew, 20 years into their solitary mission, find things beginning to go hilariously wrong. Carpenter’s early work that shines.
3. Point Last Seen – Fact-based story about a tracker who searches for a little girl who was lost in the desert, but suffers internally because her own children were kidnapped by her ex-husband. Standard made for tv movie.
4. Dead Rising Watchtower A group of people fight to survive in a zombie infested town. As fun as the game.
5. The Collection A man who escapes from the vicious grips of the serial killer known as “The Collector” is blackmailed to rescue an innocent girl from the killer’s booby-trapped warehouse. A solid sequel to an underrated horror.
6. Interstellar A team of explorers travel through a wormhole in space in an attempt to ensure humanity’s survival. Sci-fi that makes you think too much, but is breath taking.
7. John Wick An ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that took everything from him. Brutal action film.
8. Treehouse A teenage boy discovers the perpetrators of several brutal kidnappings in his home town. A horror film that lacks that punch.
9. The Pyramid An archaeological team attempts to unlock the secrets of a lost pyramid only to find themselves hunted by an insidious creature. A horror that impressed me with the humour side.
10. Whispers of the Heart A love story between a girl who loves reading books, and the boy who has previously checked out all of the library books she chooses. What you would expect from Ghilbli.
The Best – Interstellar
The Worst – Treehouse
Few good ones here. I loved Interstellar too. Bold and beautiful. Wait, is that an 80s soap opera? My fav here is John Wick. Simple but strong. Well executed and stylish. Reeves was ‘King Awesome. Loved the hitman hotel idea too.
John Wick was awesome, it really has gone under the radar not getting the praise it deserves
I flickin’ love John Wick. Can’t wait for sequel. Looking forward to these directors’ next project(s).
Treehouse? What made it so bad?
Mostly who the killers were, i went into on the full review a lot because i didnt feel the suspense was built well enough for the story, i will have to read over note to get back into why i didn’t enjoy
