Mine

When it comes to sports film you only seem to see them go two directions, one is over the top comedy and the other is inspirational true story. As all rules there are a few exceptions but picking my list I have pick only serious stories but only two true stories the rest are well written original ideas with one winning Oscars and another getting nominated for one. I am not the biggest fans of many of the more popular ones or the sports used in sports film.

  1. Warrior is sooooo good, I love that movie. It blew me away the first time I watched it. I also love Mean Machine, it’s good old fashioned English humour, great cast and such a fun, entertaining movie! Shaolin Soccer would probably be my third favourite 🙂

    • i can’t describe how much of an emotional powerful story Warrior and i don’t really like combat sports (not a fan of rocky). Mean Machine was in my top 5 until i bumped it for Rush

      • Ah man you should have kept Mean Machine!! 🙂

I’ve not seen Rush though, so I can’t really comment.

Yes I 100% agree and not just saying it to agree with you (if you know what I mean!) I rented Warrior from Lovefilm expecting…..I don’t know what I expected really! But I was absorbed within the first few minutes and captivated the entire film. I found it hugely emotional and powerful as well. I do know just what you mean. Very engaging, emotional movie. Fabulous. Nah I’m not really a fan of Rocky either! I’m not really a fan of any sports movies, especially typical sports movies. But you do get the odd few that have other aspects to them, such as comedy or attachment to characters and then that way they mean more I guess.

Actually I do have a soft spot for Coach Carter too 🙂

        Hope you’re well Dazza?
