Top 5 Favourite Gerard Butler Roles

Gerard Butler has 51 credits to his name according to the IMDB, from the moment he debuted in 1997 he has gone onto being one of the go to guys for action films. He has played roles in a range of different genres with some success but also some failures. I have looked at my favourite roles of his but have decided to leave out the animation films.

5. King Leonidas – 300 (2006)300

4. Milo Boyd – Bounty Hunter (2010)butler

3. Jack Rusoe/Alex Rover – Nim’s Island (2008)

2. Kable – Gamer (2009)gamer

 1. Mike Banning – Olympus Has Fallen (2013)fallen

Mine5. Archie Brown – Mrs Brown (1997)brown

This was his debut role supporting Dame Judi Dench and Billy Connolly. The film did get nominated for two Oscars too.

4. Creedy – Reign of Fire (2002)fire

Creedy is the loyal friend of our hero and holds himself up in the supporting role opposite Matthew McConaughey and Christian Bale. The survivors in England battle against dragons who have taken over the world.

3. Kable – Gamer (2009)gamer

Kable is prisoner who is sent into battle in a reality death game where he gets controlled by a player. This role gets to show his nonsense fighting ability.

2. Mike Banning – Olympus Has Fallen (2013)fallen

Mike is the retired secret service officer, but when the President ends up in danger he is the only man who can save the day.

1. Clyde Shelton – Law Abiding Citizen (2009)law

This is easily my favourite role and is actually one of my favourite films, Clyde starts out as quiet family man but when he sees the corruption in the law system after his family is murdered he decides to take revenge on everyone involved. I like how this role and film leaves you to question who the good and bad guys are and Gerard shines opposite Jamie Foxx.
