New Features

We here at Movie Reviews 101 are trying to come up with some new features and we would like your help. We have come up with a couple of ideas, so if you want to join in these features let us know.

1st up we are looking into a feature called ‘Our Favourite Performance’ where we pick a name and select our favourite role of that persons career. We also want to keep this rolling by having the people who take part think of the next person to focus on.

The first three names we are looking at are,

  • Scarlett Johansson
  • Chris Evans
  • Harrison Ford

2nd feature we are going to look at is ‘Snap Reviews’ this will get people to give their own one line review on any film. We will use similar ideas for ‘Our Favourite Performance’ were the people involved will get to select the next film.

With these two new features we think we could increase interaction between film fans, so come and get involved.

We continue to thank you all for the support you have shown us over the last year and look forward from hearing from you all.

Top 5 Favourite Gerard Butler Roles

Gerard Butler has 51 credits to his name according to the IMDB, from the moment he debuted in 1997 he has gone onto being one of the go to guys for action films. He has played roles in a range of different genres with some success but also some failures. I have looked at my favourite roles of his but have decided to leave out the animation films.

5. King Leonidas – 300 (2006)300

4. Milo Boyd – Bounty Hunter (2010)butler

3. Jack Rusoe/Alex Rover – Nim’s Island (2008)

2. Kable – Gamer (2009)gamer

 1. Mike Banning – Olympus Has Fallen (2013)fallen

Mine5. Archie Brown – Mrs Brown (1997)brown

This was his debut role supporting Dame Judi Dench and Billy Connolly. The film did get nominated for two Oscars too.

4. Creedy – Reign of Fire (2002)fire

Creedy is the loyal friend of our hero and holds himself up in the supporting role opposite Matthew McConaughey and Christian Bale. The survivors in England battle against dragons who have taken over the world.

3. Kable – Gamer (2009)gamer

Kable is prisoner who is sent into battle in a reality death game where he gets controlled by a player. This role gets to show his nonsense fighting ability.

2. Mike Banning – Olympus Has Fallen (2013)fallen

Mike is the retired secret service officer, but when the President ends up in danger he is the only man who can save the day.

1. Clyde Shelton – Law Abiding Citizen (2009)law

This is easily my favourite role and is actually one of my favourite films, Clyde starts out as quiet family man but when he sees the corruption in the law system after his family is murdered he decides to take revenge on everyone involved. I like how this role and film leaves you to question who the good and bad guys are and Gerard shines opposite Jamie Foxx.

Top 5 Favourite Actresses

Today we are looking at our favourite actresses. We have Mine, Simon and Lewis  Lists

5. Heather Graham

4. Jennifer Anistonaniston

3. Zooey Deschanelzooey

2. Emily Bluntblunt

1. Jennifer Lawrencejenny s

5. Natalie Portman

One of the rare child stars who has magnified her presence on screen into adulthood – from Leon to V for Vendetta, and most recently Black Swan
Movie pick: Leon, The Professional / Black Swan

4. Kajol

A huge name in Bollywood since the mid-90s, Kajol often stars in playful romantic and comedic roles opposite Shahrukh Khan
Movie picks: Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge / Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
3. AnnaSophia Robbanna
A child actor who has remained off the radar somewhat by selecting more obscure roles – Charlies & The Chocolate Factory being one of the more well-known, but not less ‘obscure’ in its design.
Movie picks: Bridge To Terabithia / Soul Surfer

2. Ziyi Zhang

A natural actoress who has committed herself to working almosts exclusively in Chiense cinema, she has had global success in several wushu movies as well as the second instalment of Rush Hour.
Movie pick: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon / The Long Road Home

1. Michelle Rodriguez

Action girl M-Rod has played boxer, surfer, Marine, and of course street racer Letty in the Fast franchise.  She takes roles of characters she respects, particularly with regards to female empowerment and strength.
Movie pick: Girlfight / The Fast & The Furious (1)

5. Danielle Harrisdanielle

When it comes to scream queens she is my favourite of the current group with Halloween, Hatchet 2 and now See No Evil 2 credited to her name. she is also a small actress who takes on the most imposing characters. She is one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood.

4. Christina Ricciricci

I have grown up watching Ricci’s films from the Adam’s Family and Casper right up to her most recent film. Christina hasn’t always made the most popular or successful films but he supporting role in Monster showed she can always be counted on for a good performance. She also tends to end up in a wide range of films which has sometimes stopped her making a real name for herself in a genre.

3. Anna Kendrickkendrick

Up In the Air, 50/50 and Pitch Perfect made me take notice of her, now I want to see how far her career will go. It would be a good call to think this actress will one day get an Oscar win and with her constant good choices in films we will learn to remember her name.

2. Jennifer Lawrencejenny D

It would be hard to argue that Jennifer could be this generation’s biggest actress, she has the potential to reach the levels of Meryl Streep and become Oscar Royalty. She comes over as one of the most down to earth people in the business and her ability to give solid performance in The Hunger Games for the cinema audience and stunning performances in Silver Linings Playbook show her ranging ability.

1. Amy Adamsadams

Oscar nods to her name, but no wins yet, she always picks great roles, she just seems to get on with the job without using much effort, but always looks the best pick for that part. She showed her singing talents in Enchanted and The Muppets, she also shows her abilities in nearly every film she turns up in.

My Favourite Role: Michonne – The Walking Dead mihcone walkers– the samurai sword wielding lone survivor who first makes an appearance saving Andrea with her iconic walker guards. She since becomes less of a mystery as the show continues but she never loses her killer instinct. She uses her sword to build up a huge walker count and has some of the best kills in the show. as the show as continued she has become good friends with Rick and Carl and unlike any other characters actually has gained a relationship with Carl where both of them can forget the nightmare world they live in.friends forever

My Least Favourite Role: My Soul To Take – basically because it wasn’t one of Wes Craven’s best pieces of work.
