Verdict: A nice film about believe in your dreams

Story: A nice story showing how it doesn’t matter where you have come from you can achieve something that you believe in. It also tells how inspiration can come from places you would never look before. It looks at the idea that a lot of humans would like to change things about them when they are fine the way they are and makes the point about how we are commercialising it. (9/10)

Character Review: Rodney Copperbottom – Idealistic young robot who is naïve in the big world but soon learns that he can change it all for the good. Very likeable character that is Mr serious to Fender Mr laughs. (9/10)

 rodney

Character Review: Fender – Wise cracking, quick talking robot who is about to break down somehow ends up taking Rodney along with him. If any animated character has ever been better cast than Robin Williams I will be very surprised. Comic Relief Award, Smooth Talker Award, Funniest Character Award (9/10)

fender

Character Review: Cappy – Helps track down Bigweld and becomes a love interest for Rodney. Is a more serious character but drowned out do to the many laughs Fender and Piper get. (7/10)

 cappy

Character Review: Bigweld – Inspirational inventor whose ideas made Rodney the robot he grew up to be. After being pushed out of his company becomes a bit of a recluse before coming to help bring back his company. Good leader and very well voiced by Mel Brooks. (8/10)

 bigweld

Character Review: Piper – The awkward teenage robot who gets embarrassed easily and gets a crush on Rodney. Even though it is a smaller role Piper gets just as many laughs Fender. Scene Stealer Award, They Have the Laughs Award (9/10)

 piper

Character Review: Ratchet – Evil tyrant who takes over Bigweld and along with his mother wants to take out all the damaged and old robots for new shiny models. Good villain shows signs of weakness throughout but also shows his greed and power hungry side. (8/10)

Oscar Chances
: Faced stiff competition and didn’t get nominated but was better than Shark Tale and Shrek 2 that did get nominated.

Chances of Sequel: Made enough money for a sequel but never been talked about, it could have a sequel the options are there.

Suggestion: A family film that could appeal to all, it has plenty of jokes for everyone both young and adult. It seems to be an animated film many people have forgotten and it would be one I would be suggesting to people from now on. (Watch)

Best Part: Domino scene.

Funniest Scene: Fender breaks out and starts dancing during a fight.

Favourite Quote: Rodney ‘This is our moment to shine, to show them what we’re made of.’ Fender ‘In my case it’s a rare metal called afraidium.’

Similar Too: Despicable Me, Ice Age

Overall: Great Family animated film
