Plot: Taku waiting at a train stop see Rikako an old school friend and he starts to reminisce on his high school experiences. Taku looks back on the first time he saw Rikako, the trip to Tokyo and friendships.
Verdict: A very good growing up story for teenagers.
Story: Growing up through school is always considered one of the hardest things, this story shows how two people struggle through everything before realising how they really ever felt. It shows how you don’t know or understand your first feelings for the opposite sex and how friendships are very delicate and can break but also be restored with simple words. (8/10)
Character Review: Taku Morisaki – He sums up every boy through high school, having a small interest in a girl. Will do crazy things for her but never knows how to show how he really feels. (8/10)
Character Review: Rikako Muto – Moves to a new town and struggles to let people in, sees he parents go through a divorce and can’t accept that people are there to help her. This is a great example of how difficult growing up in a splitting family as well as not knowing how to react to acts of kindness. (8/10)
Director Review: Tomomi Mochizuki – Shows the growing up stage of teenage life very well showing how hard they make it but once they have made it they can look back at how easy it actually was compared to adult life. (8/10)
Drama: Nice drama showing the basic scenarios teenagers go through and act during them. (8/10)
Romance: More of a reluctant romance here but you can see the chemistry between the two. (8/10)
Animation: Good animated film. (8/10)
Chemistry: Great chemistry between the two lead characters that has elements of When Harry Met Sally just in teenage years of not understanding friendship and love interests. (9/10)
Believability: The story is very believable as most of us have been through some part of the feelings. (9/10)
Chances of Tears: No (0/10)
Settings: High school setting is usually just for comedies this drama shows how realistic an animated film can make a high school life. (9/10)
Suggestion: I would suggest this because of the studio who made it as well as it is good for looking back and seeing if you went through any of the scenarios. A lot of film fans don’t like oversees cinema in a different language which could turn a lot of people off this film, but try it and you will be rewarded. (Try It)
Best Part: The reunion.
Worst Part: Bit short.
