Crimson Tide (1995)

Director: Tony Scott

Story With Russia on the verge of nuclear war Capt. Frank Ramsey (Hackman) hires Lt Commander Ron Hunter (Washington) on the submarine Alabama they are within striking range of Russia if something was to happen. Both Ramsey and Hunter have different ideas of how to handle the situation and this is a bit of a who beliefs are stronger leading up to a under water submarine battle and a submarine which has difference of opinion on the situation going on between Ramsey and Hunter. Can the two sort out their differences before they start a nuclear war? this high tension thriller will keep you on the edge of the seat from start to finish.

Verdict This thriller will keep you guessing and wondering who is in the right all the way through. Being on a submarine keeps the atmosphere claustrophobic all the way through. Seeing how a submarine is run during a crisis and how some simple disagreement between leaders on the submarine can cause a big problem to all the other officers on the submarine.

Story Mark 8/10 Strong story full on tension

Action Mark 7/10 More of a thriller than an out and out action but the small scenes come off well

Star Performances Denzel Washington – as a by the book Lt gives a strong performance

Best Part The tension between Ramsey and Hunter  is strong all the way through
